Fine+ condition Civil War collapsible rubber drinking cup with lid. Top of lid is clearly stamped "NILES DRINKING CUP / PATENTED / JUNE 5TH / 1860". These collapsible cups were used by officers and soldiers alike. The cup extended measures 2 1/4". Very fine+ condition overall, no cracks, chips or warping, 4 separate sections. Turning brown from age which is normal. Rubber drinking cups of the period are far less common than the usually encountered metal.
