Early battlefield pick-up of a saber bayonet. 24.5" overall, 19.5" blade length, from the size of the mounting ring it appears that it would go to a .69 caliber Plymouth Rifle. Brass handle, screw is frozen, spring is long gone. Nice untouched color to brass. Serial #23596. Blade is moderately pitted overall, no markings visible. Blade has a bend near the tip. No chips to blade to mention. No scabbard. It could definitely still be used on a rifle.
