Scarce early 2nd model "Squareback" triggerguard 1851 Colt Navy .36 caliber six-shot revolver, serial #3641 matching, including the barrel wedge, 1851 pre-Civil War production. Very fine+ 2nd model Colt Navy overall, metal overall is a pewter-grey age patina. There is some fading remnants of blue on the barrel flats and around the wedge on the frame. Cylinder scene rates .50%. Barrel flats are sharp with clear and crisp one-line New York barrel address. Bore is very good with distinct rifling. Mechanics are tight. Untouched brass is aged with approximately .20% original silver finish remaining around the trigger. Left side of frame stamped "COLTS PATENT". "Slim-Jim" grips are very good+. Here is your chance to own a highly collectible scarce, early production Colt Navy, this gun would make an excellent addition to any collection. Getting very hard to find.
