Cased pair of French percussion dueling pistols. Very fine matched pair, both pistols are in fine+ condition. Both barrels in gold accent script on top flat "CANON TORDU". Barrels are octagon and flared at the muzzles. Metal overall is an aged dove-tail grey. Case colors still visible on one hammer, both buttplates and one lockplate. Adjustable trigger tension screws are both present. French-styled triggerguards. Fine checkered handles with ornate decorated stocks. One wood repair to a crack going through the barrel wedge on the backside, hardly noticeable. One hammer screw has been replaced. Mechanics are fine. Barrels are fitted with both rear and front sights. Not sure of the caliber on these as the muzzles flare. Both wooden ramrods are present. A well-made pair.
An inexpensive fine looking pair for display.
Pistols are fitted in a contemporary velvet-lined case, along with 2 contemporary powder tins. Also in the case is a scissor type original bullet mold, cap tin (no label) and newer powder measure.
