Manhattan revolver rates very good+ overall condition. A really nice engraved identification on the right side of frame "W. J. KNAUSS, ALLENTOWN, PA.". The 2-piece grips are very good+. The serial number is #2891. The revolver retains all factory engraving on the barrel and cylinder, as well as Manhattan markings. Corporal Willoughby J. Knauss initially enlisted into Company G, 128th Pennsylvania Infantry. He was wounded in action at the battle of Antietam later dying from brain inflammation on 11/18/1862 at Philadelphia, PA. This handy little pistol, light and convenient to carry, firing .22 caliber rimfire ammunition that was impervious to rain and foul weather. It might not do much on the battlefield, but it could make an opponent close-up think twice. From my personal collection. A lengthy folder and display case accompany this historic revolver.
