Aston military pistol, model 1842, .54 caliber. Tight action. Metal overall is a deep brown-grey patina. Barrel with clear U.S. proof, tang dated 1852. Lock with clear markings, dated 1852 as well. Brass is untouched with the exception of the front barrel band which has been slightly cleaned. Complete with swivel ramrod. Wood overall is very good, 2 cartouches still visible, slightly worn. An inexpensive U.S. military pistol. Very good overall.
