Rare 15th century Wheelock pistol. Overall length 25" with a decorative 14 1/4" barrel, flared muzzle. All metal components I believe to be of the period. The stock is old, but most likely a Victorian replacement. Typical with the brass angel faces on both sides of the butt. Quite heavy, simple typical iron work. The back of the lock as well as the barrel has primitive figures, not sure what country they denote. The spanner is a newer made piece. The ramrod is a well-made newer replacement, ebony tipped. Mechanics are very good. Uncommon.
