Colt model 1851 Navy revolver, with special order from Colt's factory for fancy burl grips. Serial #141445 matching, 1863 manufacture. The revolver has smooth bluing intact turning purple mainly on the barrel and on the cylinder. Barrel 7 1/2", .36 percussion caliber. Top of barrel stamped with clear Colt New York address. Cylinder scene is very clear on this revolver and rates .90%, it has some of the engaged line still intact. Scene is very clear on the cylinder. The serial # appears as well on the inside of the burl grips. Mechanics are very tight. Loading lever still has some case hardening along with just a trace on the frame. Trigger guard has "36 CAL" and "2" stamping. Wood burl grips are very good used condition with still alot of original varnish intact. The brass has a nice mellow patina on trigger guard & back strap. A really excellent Colt Navy M1851 that someone special ordered from Colt with burl grips, most likely an officer.
