Colt "Sheriff's" model, serial #42811 matching, 1883 manufacture, 5-shot. Excellent 2.5" rifled bore. Metal shows strong flashes of original blue on backstrap and triggerguard. .15% original blue overall, with long flutes. Crisp marking, clear etched panel on left side of barrel (COLT D.A. 38). Top of barrel 2-line Colt markings are very clear and distinct. Left side of frame with clear 3-line patent dates. Mechanics are very good in both DA & SA. The grips have sharp checkering and exhibit light handling wear. These "Sheriff" model Colt's have always been highly collectible.
