Scarce Colt "Navy" model pocket revolver. Serial #14256 matching, including wedge, desirable 1862 manufacture. This .36 caliber Colt pocket is equipped with a 5-shot cylinder and fitted with a 4.5" barrel.  This is one of the most scarce and difficult of the Colt percussion revolvers to locate as less than 22,000 were made and most of these were shipped as factory conversions from percussion to cartridge or made originally as cartridge models.  The metal overall is an untouched aged darker patina.  The ramrod retains hints of original faded case colors. The barrel has remnant flashes of original blue finish mostly surrounding the wedge on the left side.  The front sight is a small brass bead.  All of the brass has a pleasing aged patina.  The rebated cylinder scene rates about .50% with some surface bumps present.  Bore is very good+ with strong rifling.  Mechanics are tight. 1-line New York barrel address, Colt's patent marking of left side of frame and "36 CAL" on left side of triggerguard are all very clear. Grips are very good+ with practically all original varnish remaining, bottom edges with some slight wear.  A scarce Colt "Navy" model pocket revolver in .36 caliber.
