Model 1855 U.S. Springfield Armory .58 caliber pistol-carbine. Lockplate and barrel tang both stamped "1855". Front of lockplate with clear "U.S. / SPRINGFIELD". Lockplate primer door with clear eagle. Metal overall is a smooth untouched pewter-grey patina. All brass components untouched as well with nice age patina. Mechanics are tight and excellent. Complete with original ramrod, swivel and ring in buttcap. Original 2-leaf rear sight. The wood overall is very good, some old surface stress cracks are visible and worn over from age. Also visible are cartouche outline remnants. The shoulder stock is very good overall, stamped on the yoke '8'. Brass buttplate stamped "U.S.". Complete with swivel, no cracks to wood.
