Scarce Civil War percussion Benjamin F Joslyn "USN" revolver, .44 caliber. Serial #1282 matching. In addition, this scarce revolver is stamped "USN" on the bottom of the grip strap. This Joslyn revolver is super rare as the US Navy only purchased 100. These scarce revolvers were produced early in the war during 1861-1862 with only approximately 3,000 manufactured. This example is in very good+ condition overall. The metal is a pleasing smooth aged gun metal grey. Very clear barrel markings on the top "B. F. JOSLYN. / PAT'D MAY 4TH 1858.". Bore is very good. Mechanics are very good, tight. Beautiful 2-piece original walnut grips with fine distinct checkering still present. These scarce Joslyn revolvers are not common to run across on today's market. The bonus with this one is that is was issued to the Navy. .100% original and complete.
