18th Century very ornate, original "Rat Tail" miquelet flintlock pistol. Identified as a "Rat Tail" to describe the unique handle design. Very showy, 19.5" total length, .65 caliber. Brass sheeting with elaborate decorative engraving over a wood core stock. In original flintlock configuration. Mechanics are excellent, original steel ramrod. There appears to be a maker's stamp on the lockplate. Also some worn design on the barrel at the breech. A very decorative piece of the Ottoman Empire.
