Scarce fine+ overall condition "Gem" single-shot derringer pistol in rare .30 caliber, most of these when encountered are .22 caliber. Manufactured from 1872 to 1890 by the Stevens Arms Company. "GEM" is marked on top of barrel, serial #3771 matching inside of right grip panel. The gun is in fine+ condition retaining .100% of the original gold-plate finish, only wearing thin on some edges. The rifled bore is very good and should clean better. The barrel swivels fine, the mechanics are tight. Fitted with the original attractive rosewood bird head grips exhibiting little wear. This is a scarce little gun with only an estimated 4,000 produced, in addition to .30 caliber, original gold-plating and exceptional overall condition. See Flayderman's #5H-003
