Very fine+ early Colt model 1851 Navy .36 caliber six-shot revolver, serial #42416 matching, except the barrel wedge, early 1855 production. Very fine+ early Colt Navy, overall metal is a smooth light grey patina. Barrel flats are sharp with clear and crisp one-line New York barrel address. The bore is very good+ with sharp grooves. Check out the safety pins on the back of the cylinder, this is unheard of for a Colt with this age, it must have been kept in a drawer from the day it was purchased. Cylinder scene is all there, it is just thinning. Mechanics are tight as a drum. Brass is aged mellow patina. Left side of frame stamped COLTS PATENT. Grips are very good with age handling wear. This Colt Navy would make a great addition to any collection.
