Scarce fluted-cylinder Colt model 1860 Army percussion revolver. Serial #4718 matching, including wedge #5261, 1861 manufacture. .44 caliber bore is very good+, mechanics are tight. Colt's patent marking on frame. Cut for shoulder stock, 4-screw frame. One-line patent dates are present in a cylinder flute. "L" on the left side of the triggerguard. Has a 8" barrel with very good Colt's one-line New York barrel address. Wood grips are very good+. The barrel, backstrap and cylinder have had a light polishing years ago which has toned down somewhat from handling. The frame, brass and grips have more age patina to them. Though polished years ago, the gun overall has a pleasing pewter-grey finish overall. A super scarce example of a desirable and highly sought after fluted Colt Army, these are getting tough to come across.
