Civil War outdoor mounted cavalry officer tintype. This is a quarter plate in a full leatherette case. Yellow shoulder straps and horse furniture make this definitely cavalry. There has been some blistering of the emulsion, but fortunately it’s outside the images of the horse and soldier. Still a desireable image. Exterior of case has some trivial age scuffing. Old fabric spine repair. Closure hooks are present. Similar images of this type of subject matter in good overall condition sell for $1,200.00 and up. This one due to condition is fairly priced.
