Most likely from the characteristics a Civil War C S Side Knife. 13 3/4" in length. Steel blade is smooth with surface age spots. Cool wooden carved handle has 3 brass stars inlaid on both sides. Also carved hash-cuts on both sides of the handle, upper and lower edges. No wiggle to handle and blade. Left handle exhibits an age stress crack running its length, not affecting.
