U.S. model 1860 Staff & Field Officer's sword. The 27.5" full un-engraved blade is very nice, uncleaned, marked "MADE IN GERMANY" and with a stamped 4-legged animal, import. Wonderful tight original spiral wood and twisted brass wire grip, it appears to never have had any leather. Brass has relief eagles, shields, crossed rifles, flags and wreaths. Blade retains the original leather washer. Steel scabbard is very good with brass mounts and original leather hanger strap. A complete and very nice looking sword.
