Civil War model 1864 cartridge box with sling, tins and both plates. A nice original cartridge box with sling, .58 caliber. Very good model 1864 cartridge box with die-struck oval "US' plate on the outer flap. Condition overall is very good. The inner flap has a partially legible contractor stamp "[SPRING]F'LD MASS.". The box has all loops on the back, roller buckles, closure tab and brass finial and original tins. The original round brass eagle plate is present on the sling with great detail and golden patina, the sling is very good+.
This is a nice complete set. There was an old tag in the box that has gone MIA that stated "Found at Mule Shoe Salient (Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse".
