Confederate Civil War cap box from the Perryville, KY battlefield area. This item came out of an old Kentucky collection. Brown leather with hand stitching. Condition is very good, missing the wide single belt loop on the reverse, you can still see where it was originally attached, this could be restored if so desired. Leather overall is still quite smooth, about 1/2" separation starting on the end of the front flap at one end. Some original sheep's wool still inside. This one has a brass finial, closure tab is intact.
