Custer era Indian Wars model 1881 holster, and model 1874 belt & plate rig. U.S. Army Model 1881 holster has tight closed seams, 3-hole flap to accommodate either a Colt model 1873 revolver, or a Smith & Wesson Schofield single action revolver. Top front of flap has had some modification to it, looks professionally done. Early narrow belt loop on back. Complete with plug. Very good solid condition overall, slight crazing to exterior black bridle leather. Front embossed oval U.S. is there, just weak. Brass closure stud present. Model 1874 black bridle leather waist belt is very good and pliable with just average expected wear. The original brass adjuster hook is present, as well as the keeper. Retains the original sword hanger. The small leather loop to hold the end of the belt in place is a later replacement, could be easily removed if desired. Complete with a very fine original rectangular brass model 1874 belt plate with "U S" in a raised oval. A nice original Indian Wars cavalry trooper's rig.
