Movie prop Winchester model 1873 brass-frame carbine from the estate of American actor Gene Evans (1922-1998). Mr. Evans was an iconic stage screen and television star that played in many Hollywood western movies. This prop Winchester belonging to Mr. Evans was acquired from his personal estate sale in 2018. The prop works just like a real carbine, the lever, hammer and trigger work just fine. Overall dimensions are accurate. The stock and forearm are made of real wood. The golden finish on the metal frame gives a correct appearance of brass, while the other metal components have a black finish. Complete with rear elevator sight, saddle ring on the left side of the frame and trapdoor in the buttplate for a cleaning rod. A very accurate made prop. An 8" X 10" black & white xerox photo showing Mr. Evans in western attire holding a Winchester and two flyers from the estate sale accompany. This prop was mounted on a plaque in Mr. Evans home, most likely having importance significance to him. Movie props are highly sought after. This prop Winchester would make an excellent addition to your western collection.
