Excavated stone club head. Smooth black stone, still retaining two museum documenting labels. The front "? 1898", the back "D501". Not sure where this came from, nor the era. It exhibits some chipping and areas of surface stone loss, along with a larger chip of stone missing from the back portion. The front is still good and clearly displays the original sculpted cutting edge, worn over smooth from age.
A neat looking piece, perhaps someone can solve the mystery of where this was found by interpreting what it says on the front label.
