Original Confederate rectangular belt plate. The front displays clear "C.S.A." lettering. This plate is referred to as the "Atlanta-style". The reverse still retains intact all 3 cast brass belt hooks. These hooks were often cast with air bubbles in the metal and under stress would chip, as is the case with the tip of one hook. The plate has a dark patina overall, as well as a slight bend. The plate was recently recovered from a yard in Corinth, Mississippi. Corinth was the staging area for the Confederate Army during the Shiloh campaign and also the site of a large battle in late 1862. These are very sought after C.S.A. buckles, here's your chance to own an original. Certificate of Authenticity accompanies.
