U.S. General William Tecumseh Sherman (February 8, 1820 - February 14, 1891) he served as a general in the Union Army during the Civil War 1861-1865. Excellent clear ink signature "W. T. SHERMAN / GENERAL" on a 2 1/4" X 3 3/4" stock off-white calling card. The reverse printed "W. T. SHERMAN, / GENERAL. / 817 15TH ST. / WASHINGTON / D.C."
Accompanied by the original envelope which it was sent from Headquarters Army of the United States, Official Business, to J. P. Marston Esq., Bath, Maine, sent from Washington D.C. April 20, 1882. Left end was original ripped open, as well as the original stamp being removed. Also comes with a 4" X 6" reproduction black & white photo of General Sherman in uniform. Ready to be matted and framed.
