Intriguing coin silver hallmarked tablespoon. Monogrammed on the handle in fancy period lettering "BOOTH". The back of the spoon shows PATENT 1861, as well as silver hallmarks. A classic design of the period, the spoon remains in excellent condition, 7" in length. We do know that the Booth family were wealthy and could easily afford such items. Could this spoon have a possible connection to the family of John Wilkes Booth, we my never know, but it is the centerpiece of speculation and conversation as a showpiece. Regardless of the name, it is well worth the investment as a decorative spoon of the Civil War era.
