Civil War 1st New York Sharpshooters ditty bag/pouch belonging to Private George Ross. Very fine+ condition overall of its age. Constructed of wool cloth and weaved cloth tie at the top, similar to that of a canteen sling. All seams are fine, no holes. Bottom front in ink "PROP. PVT. G. ROSS / 1ST N.Y. VOL.". Private Ross enlisted on 11/13/62 and was mustered into 8th Company New York 1st Sharpshooters. Any identified items belonging to Sharpshooters is desirable and hard to come across.
