Identified Colt model 1860 army flap holster. Original flap holster which has "seen the elephant", it is what it is. We just sold the inscribed Colt Army revolver, but the purchaser did not want the holster, so we are confident in knowing that the holster did indeed belong to Corporal Robert G M Fitton who was captured at Gettysburg July 3rd, 1863. Private Robert G M Fitton, enlisted in the 3rd Pennsylvania Cavalry, Company "C" on 08-01-1861 and was mustered out 08-24-1864. He was promoted to Corporal on 08-01-1862. Some notable battles for the hard fighting regiment for include: Battle of Manassas, Battle of Antietam, Battle of Williamsburg, Tullahoma Campaign, Battle of Fredericksburg, Battle of Kelly's Ford, Battle of GETTYSBURG and Siege of Petersburg. Some paperwork accompanies, here's a holster that was captured at Gettysburg!
