Fine First Model Civil War production Henry rifle. It has all matching numbers, crisp barrel markings, nice evenly aged medium golden patina to brass, light natural grey-brown aged patina on the smooth barrel with no pitting. Excellent untouched dark color walnut stock retaining its original factory oil finish with very fine metal to wood fit. Has the original Henry adjustable elevator rear sight and original blade front sight. The .44 caliber rifled bore is fine, bright and shiny and the action works flawlessly. All original screws, springs, sling swivels, etc. The gun even still retains its original Henry 4 piece hickory cleaning rods in the stock. There is one small half inch size surface gouge/dent in the right butt stock of no consequence, otherwise fine untouched condition overall. Marked on the barrel with the early first model style stamping: "HENRY'S PATENT, OCT. 16 1860" over "MANUFACT'D BY NEW HAVEN ARMS CO NEWHAVEN, CT". SN "4095" stamped on breech of barrel, with matching "4095" number found (when the gun is taken apart) on the lower frame tang, inside butt plate, both butt plate screws, and on the stock on the upper frame tang recess. Rifle is all original in nice untouched condition as described above, it has not been cleaned, polished, or monkeyed with, basically untouched just showing light normal age from minimal use. The original Henry hickory cleaning rods are excellent also. Overall an above average desirable one hundred percent original and complete Civil War production First Model Henry.
