Civil War era single-shot .41 caliber smoothbore boot pistol. Approximately 7.5" overall length. French manufacture with the barrel bearing the St Etienne Arsenal stamp. Matching "19" on hammer and frame. Mechanics are tight, holding in both positions. Metal overall is a smooth aged-grey. The one-piece wooden grips is very good free of any cracks or chips. A weapon used by both sides during the war for hand to hand combat.
