1851 dated Batty "Peace" flask. This Mexican War era flask is marked on the top 'BATTY" and "1851". Also stamped with a government inspection letter of "A D K". This flask has one of the best colors I've seen in sometime. Beautiful chocolate-brown patina overall. The body of the flask is very good, with one dent above the military motif design on one side. The seam is strong and shows no evidence of splitting or repairs. Some green surface residue on the bottom edge only. Both round side rings are present, the spout works and adjusts fine as well as the spring on the thumb piece. A nice example of a Peace flask with a very pleasing appearance.
