Civil War Sharps model 1863 percussion carbine, .52 caliber. Serial #C30609, Springfield Research records showing that #C30608 was issued to 1st Maryland Cavalry. The 22" round barrel retains a mirror bright bore with strong grooves. Original rear ladder sight. The metal overall is a smooth aged grey patina. Good lockplate, frame and barrel markings. Wood overall is good, there is a small surface crack to the wrist on the top right, forearm has a small trivial stress crack as well, strong cartouches. Complete with sling bar and ring. The mechanics are tight. An affordable and decent original and complete model 1863 Civil War Sharps carbine.
