Civil War model 1860 breechloading Spencer carbine, early serial #16041. This Spencer is in very good original condition overall. The metal overall is an aged dove-tail grey. The bore is good, some pitting, with six-groove rifling visible, should clean better. Original folding rear sight with slide. The wood is very good with expected age-handling dings overall, both clear inspector cartouches visible behind saddle ring bar. Top flat of the receiver, forward of the hammer is stamped with correct Spencer markings, all there, somewhat worn. Original sling bar and sling ring are tightly secured to the left side of stock. Retains the single swivel near the stock toe. Original magazine tube and spring. Mechanics are crisp and strong. A pleasing and classic original Civil War model 1860 Spencer carbine in very good condition overall.
