Civil War .44 caliber double-action Army Starr revolver. Only about 23,000 of these revolvers were made from the late 1850’s until the early 1860’s. This is a nice example retaining .40%-.50% original fire blue on both sides of the frame. Very clear frame markings both sides. Underside of the barrel with approximately .30%-.40% original blue. The rest of the metal is an untouched plum-brown with underlying hints of faded blue. This is a government issued military inspected model with sub inspector's initials on the metal components throughout. Grips exhibit wear with remnants of the government cartouche on the left grip. Serial #11453. Tight mechanics, double-action. The barrel is full-length at 6" and has the original front sight intact. This is a nice looking, complete and better than average Civil War double-action Army Starr revolver.
